What began as making sausage for family and friends has grown into a tradition spanning four generations.

Our story started with Carl Melcher, who made sausage alongside his son, Gorden, using old-fashioned recipes and techniques that brought people together around the table. In 1980, Jeff Melcher took over the family tradition, learning the craft one cut of meat, seasoning blend, and batch at a time. What began as a hobby soon became something much bigger as more friends, neighbors, and customers discovered the quality and flavor of Melcher Custom Meats.

Today, we're still committed to doing things the way our family always has—using quality meats, fresh ingredients, and recipes that have been refined over generations. Because our own family has experienced food allergies and health concerns, we've worked hard to create products with thoughtful ingredients, lower sugar and salt, and recipes that more people can enjoy without sacrificing flavor.

While farming remains part of who we are, making sausage has become a true family business. Each generation has played a role in carrying on the tradition, and today our family continues to work together to prepare, package, and share the products we're proud to put our name on.
